Physical processes of the air-sea interface are complicated by the presence oil, sargassum or other materials. The laboratory supports studies on the interactions between oil, water, and the atmosphere to better predict surface oil transport across the ocean, and how oil affects wave growth, dissipation, and air bubbles.
